I’m pretty simple. I like traveling, coffee, and laughing—ideally, all at once. I grew up a on a small farm in Pennsylvania, where my dad handed me a clunky old camera (my first) at age 13. I was in college when a new boyfriend led me the photo lab and I fell in love—with photography, not the boy.
After a handful of photo-related jobs, I stumbled into publishing. With its fast-paced creativity and glossy, captivating images, the magazine world swept me right off my feet. In my two decades in this industry, I’ve worked as a photo director and video producer for titles at Time Inc., Hearst, Active Interest Media, Meredith, and Rodale. I’ve organized and executed photo and video shoots for everything from food and yoga to homes, cars, and celebrities. If you can think of it, I’ve put a shoot together for it.
After all this time, I’ve realized why I truly love what I do: I love people’s stories, and the chance to help tell those stories. And I especially love telling those stories using visual media, which brings depth and dimension to a narrative like nothing else.
